Hypnotherapy is a very effective and time efficient method for tackling phobias. It first finds the origin of the phobia and then helps eliminate the ‘frightening’ emotional content from the subconscious mind.
Fears and phobias can stem from times in our lives when were open to suggestion, such as in childhood. Some things seem more threatening to you, than is truly the case.
Your subconscious mind often deals with this by attempting to keep you away from these perceived threats. One way your subconscious mind does this is by creating the feelings of panic or anxiety.
Even though this behaviour is irrational as an adult, your subconscious mind still continues to behave in the way that it perceives is best to protect you. (The primary function of your subconscious mind is to protect you)
In hypnosis you are communicating with your subconscious mind and can therefore relearn behaviour and allow you to see that this ‘thing’ is not truly a threat to you.
As a result you are able to respond in a more appropriate and rational way.
