Sleep

Most people have experienced sleepless nights from time to time and are then able to make up for it the next night without any ill effect. However, when this happens night after night, it can affect your health and wellbeing. Good quality sleep is essential for good health and if something has upset your ability to sleep then hypnotherapy is an ideal solution.

There are three different types of insomnia:

Primary insomnia: Difficulty in getting to sleep in the first place.

Middle insomnia: Waking up several times in the night and having difficulty dropping back off easily.

Terminal insomnia: Waking up very early and being unable to go back to sleep at all, this often occurs at times of stress or depression.

There are many reasons why people suffer from poor quality, or interrupted sleep. It may be that something in your life has caused you to worry and become anxious. If this then affects your sleep, problems can seem worse than they really are. When you are tired it isn’t as easy to deal with life and so you can find yourself in a vicious cycle. Other causes of poor sleep are, ever-changing shift patterns, young children; pain and discomfort, or you may have just got into the habit of sleeping badly.

So how could hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy for insomnia works by clearing the stress, anxiety and unhelpful patterns that are preventing you from sleeping or having good quality sleep.

How many sessions will it take?

No two clients are the same. The number of sessions depends on the client’s individual circumstances, however for sleep usually two or three sessions are sufficient. Please contact Helen for further advice.
